Taking a Byte out of Life
As I begin my last semester at St. Mary’s University, I feel an overwhelming amount of excitement to be close to starting a new chapter in my life. After taking this course in the spring of 2010, I learned so much from this class and I want to be able to refine the skills that I learned and also develop new skills that I did not know before. I am also excited to be expanding my projects into journalism based on my role on the editorial staff of The Rattler. I feel that by transitioning these project to our online website, our student and alumnie will be only get to know students better, but also be able to connect with the personal aspect of the story.
The challenges I expect from this class are finding newsworthy material to cover and being able to manage my time. I feel that if I keep my self super-organized and make sure to start project early, I will be able to over these challenges. This course relates to my career because I have already use the skills I gained from taking this course in my internship at the Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas, and these skills will be the most important ones because of my future plans for a master’s degree. I am so grateful for the opportunity to learn from one of the best communication teachers at St. Mary’s University and to have one last class with him.
