Chrystalla Georghiou is a graduate of St. Mary’s University with a degree in English-Communication Arts. She currently attends graduate school at Southern Methodist University to obtain a Master of Fine Arts in Advertising. Eventually Georghiou hopes to finds a account service position in a non-profit organization, but also finds herself wanting to work in a small agency. She has spent most of her childhood traveling with her parents, which has helped her learn and experience cultures outside her own. As a student of St. Mary’s, Georghiou was involved in Sigma Sigma Sigma, participated in an internship opportunity at The Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas and served as the Layout/Design Editor at the Rattler Newspaper from August 2012 through May of 2013.
Georghiou traveled frequently between Europe and the United States. She has lived in Nicosia, Cyprus and Doha, Qatar, for most of her childhood and then returned to the U.S. when she was eight years old. While living in these countries, she developed a passion for learning about other cultures. In fall 2010 she participated in a study abroad program with the International Education Foundation in London, where she learned more about British media and communications and then traveled to Hong Kong in the summer of 2013 with the Temerlin Advertising Institute to understand how advertising differs in asian cultures. For Georghiou her passion for learning about culture led her to the English-Communication Arts major that she hopes will lead her to become a successful in the advertising field.
